Rose red city: Jordan's Petra
PETRA, JORDAN - APRIL 11: Al-Khazneh temple, 40 meters high with its Corinthian columns, is seen at ancient city Petra, also known as rose red city, in Jordan on April 11, 2022. The ancient city of Petra, built by the Nabataean Empire between 400 BC and 106 AD and defying the years, attracts visitors who wonder its unique architecture. The ancient city, included in the "World Heritage Site" list by UNESCO on 6 December 1985, was selected as one of the " New Seven Wonders of the World" on 7 July 2007. Petra is home to many astonishing structures with shelters carved into rock blocks, temples, rock tombs, water channels, theatres, colonnaded streets and primitive dams.
