Tunisian authorities deny allegation that one person died during protest in Sfax
SFAX, TUNISIA - NOVEMBER 09: The allegations that young man protesting the lack of basic public services in Sfax city of Tunisia died during the police intervention was denied by the country's interior ministry on Tuesday, Nov. 9.Local people have been protesting the authorities' negligence in garbage collection for over a month in the region.Hundreds of demonstrators continued their protests in the Agareb region of the city until late last night.According to the allegations, the police caused the death of a young man while trying to disperse the demonstrators.Meanwhile, the sister of the deceased young man said during an interview that: "What could my brother have done to be dangerous, he died."However, this claim was denied by the country's interior ministry.In a statement, the ministry said the 35-year-old young man, who had an emergency health problem in his house close to the place where the demonstrations were held, died in the hospital where he was taken by his relatives.The ministry also said that the autopsy process and investigation regarding the issue has been initiated.
