Ayesha Gaddafi, daughter of former Libyan leader, exhibits artworks in Moscow
MOSCOW, RUSSIA - OCT. 17, 2024: Ayesha Gaddafi, the daughter of Libya's ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi, opened a personal art exhibition titled 'Daughter of Libya' in Moscow, Russia.Organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Union of Culture and Art Workers, the exhibition took place at the State Museum of Oriental Art.The opening was attended by Igor Spivak, President of the Russian Middle Eastern Society Foundation, along with various diplomats, media representatives, and art enthusiasts.During her speech at the opening, Gaddafi expressed her happiness about her paintings being exhibited in Russia. She stated that 'a brutal crime' had been committed against her family and reflected this in her artwork, saying, 'The paintings I have drawn reflect my voice, my memories, and my thoughts. I painted these not with my hand but with my heart.'Gaddafi mentioned, 'This exhibition is organized in memory of my father and brother on the anniversary of their deaths. These paintings are being exhibited for the first time. I documented the crime through my works. These paintings are in memory of my father and brother. The Libyan people did not commit this crime.'She provided information about her paintings and engaged in conversations with art enthusiasts. Ayesha Gaddafi's exhibition, 'Daughter of Libya,' will be open to the public until December 1.'
